On Monday, March 28, 2022, an agreement was signed for the implementation of activities aimed at the education and activation of inhabitants of the Grodzisk Mazowiecki Commune in the field of providing knowledge about climate change and counteracting climate change. During the planned activities, we will draw the attention of residents to environmental issues increasing knowledge and environmental awareness about climate action.
As a part of this task, we have planned, among others:
- actions aimed at resident activation – ecological events, eco picnics, lectures, workshops, and inter-school competitions.
- education and knowledge transfer in the form of profiled education – we will create an ecological education support team, and we will run meetings with experts and nature enthusiasts,
- information/promotional campaigns – communication activities, and competitions for residents.
The ongoing climate changes have an impact on the lives of each of us – the inhabitants of Grodzisk. We are struggling with the negative consequences of global warming. It is worth noting, however, that this state of affairs is not solely due to industrial development and excessive emissions of greenhouse gases. The climate is impacted also by our daily activities, related to how we approach waste segregation, irrational use of water resources, or excessive consumption. With the external funds obtained, we are planning city investments in infrastructure (including the revitalization of Plac Wolności) and activities aimed at awareness and eco-knowledge increase among residents.
Implementation of educational and information activities as part of the project „Investments in the field of green-blue infrastructure in Grodzisk Mazowiecki” co-financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, program area: Mitigation of climate change and adaptation to its effects.
Activities are co-financed in 85% from Norwegian funds, cooperation within the scope of project „Investments in the field of green-blue infrastructure in Grodzisk Mazowiecki” co-financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 under the program: „Environment, Energy and Climate Change” (Contract No. MFEOG.07.03.0-07-0025/21-00).
Implementation of the project: Grodzisk Mazowiecki commune Foundation “W Podróży” – a Grodzisk NGO cooperating with over a dozen local governments within the scope of environmental education projects.
